Donate to orphans in Africa

When parents die, children usually go to a grandmother or aunt who is already stretched. Without help, older children leave school to work and younger ones go hungry.

Our orphan care programme keeps orphaned children with their families instead of in institutions. Guardians receive food and school support, caseworkers visit every household every month, and guardians join savings groups so the family can become self-reliant.

Questions about donate to orphans in africa

Is it better to support orphanages or families?

Child-welfare experts recommend keeping orphaned children with relatives wherever possible. Our programme supports the family caring for the child, not an orphanage.
